I'm really close to finishing my second reading of The Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman and wanted to show my appreciation for his awesome books by drawing Lyra and Will (and Pan of course).
Admittedly this isn't a scene, I just started by drawing the two kids and wanted to give them a place to be standing. Will's not feeling so hot on account on his brand new missing fingers, and Lyra's in the process of trying to figure things out.
I'm not sure how I feel about them both being kinda skinny, though neither one has the most opulent living circumstances, so it probably makes sense.
Did you know that Cittagazze means 'City of Magpies'? Aptly named, considering who inhabits it and what they do.
EEEEEEEE!!!! I love those books. I will never read them ever again because Kris already explained why. But I cried soooo hard. SO FREAKING HARD. I love the way you drew Lyra.
I ADORE Pan's expression. He's looking at Will like "I'mma eatchu!" Really nice job, I like your take on Lyra, I've never pictured her with hair like that.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
