Okay, this one has a story behind it. And not one that actually pertains to the characters involved.
I'm in a show right now with the local community theatre, who just moved to a new building, which is an old parking garage. This old parking garage has no heat. None. It's late October in central Illinois, and every rehearsal has us wearing all of the cold-weather gear that we wore on the way.
Ever tried being an ingenue in a thick scarf and a leather jacket? ...it's kind of fun, actually.
Anyway, I paralleled it to what our Parisian friends would be doing at their cabaret rehearsals. Most of these guys are people I just randomly made up (feel free to name them and give them stories if you want), but Severin is there playing guitar with very cold hands (part of him got cut off in the scan, sad sad), and Kegano is trying to listen to the old choreographer while simultaneously trying not to die of hypothermia.
I think my favorite part of this is the dancer on the far left. And I really like the choreographer, too. I wonder what her deal is, other than being old and demanding.
Gah I love how you have such a greatly illustrated scene. It has so much life and a sense of realism to it, like a still of a movie or something. Great atmosphere!
Love the colors you've added. It really helps to express the atmosphere even more. I like your use of cooler reds, which was a smart choice to give it a cold feel. I think at this point, color seems the main attention of all the elements; the yellow really holds your eye in the composition though you can't help but wander to the illustrious characters in the foreground, and receding back to the darkened characters backstage. Really great subtle shading, just enough to get that setting down pat. Love this piece, its so complete

I also have a life.
I just don't use either of them too often.
